Moab, Utah

After 10 days without a shower and camping for 6 weeks, I greatly looked forward to visiting Lucy in Moab. She graciously gave up her bed, and I was able to take a shower. She took me out to her workplace, Moab Under Canvas, where one of her coworkers made us dinner. The next day I met Lucy when she got off work and we went to a winery and sat by the Colorado River.

We had dinner and smores again that night at her workplace. She hooked me up with a stay in their nicest suite tents-with a king size bed and everything. I call it fancy camping, others call it glamping. Plus I had great views of Arches NP from my tent.

Tuesday Lucy took me to some of her favorite places around Moab. We checked out some petroglyphs by Moonflower Canyon and then spontaneously climbed up the vertical Indian Ladder. I thought being tall would help but it was a difficult climb and kinda scary going down.

Then we went to Cable Arch-there's no trailhead so you just gotta know where it is. To get an aerial view of the arch you have to use a cable to climb up the rock face.

Lucy hooked me up again with a stay in a safari tent that night.

Then on Wednesday we got bagels at Red Rock Bakery and biked to Mill Creek-another local spot. Once there we hiked a mile or so in to a swimming hole. I brought a float with me and we had a good time goofing off in the cold water with the float. After enjoying a few hours by Mill Creek we had to leave so Lucy could go to work, and I got ready to leave town.

I had a great visit with Lucy and am so grateful for getting to stay at Moab Under Canvas. It's great to have friends all over the country!
